The working principle of the Trommel Screen is based on the rotation of the drum and the movement of the material on the surface of the drum. After the material enters the interior of the drum screen through the feed port, the drum begins to rotate, and the material is subjected to centrifugal force on the surface of the drum and moves along the length of the drum. Smaller particles will be screened out through the sieve holes or screen plates, while larger particles will be retained on the surface of the drum. As the drum continues to rotate, materials of different sizes are separated and moved forward along the length of the drum, and finally discharged through the outlet.
 

Output and efficiency of drum screen

Although the output of the Trommel Screen is large, the screening accuracy may not be as good as that of the vibrating screen, and it cannot perform multi-stage screening like a vibrating screen.
