It is not only related to the service life and efficiency of the equipment but also directly related to the safety of the operator. The following are the key points of safe operation and use sorted out according to relevant information:

 

1. Preparation before starting

 
Cleaning and inspection:
 
• Clean the work site to ensure that there is no debris affecting the start-up and operation of the equipment.
 
• Carefully check whether each part is correct and flexible, and whether the safety devices are complete and reliable.
 
• Check the wear of the crushing tooth plate to ensure that the wear is within an acceptable range.
 
• Adjust the size of the discharge port to meet production needs.
 
• Check whether there is ore in the crushing chamber. If there is a large piece of ore, it must be removed.
 
• Check whether the connecting bolts are loose, whether the protective covers of the pulley and flywheel are intact, and whether the tightness of the V-belt and tension spring is appropriate.
 
• Check the fullness of the oil storage tank (or dry oil storage tank) and whether the lubrication system is good.
 
• Electrical equipment and signal systems need to be checked to see if they are normal.
 
No-load test run:
 
Before starting, conduct a no-load test run to observe whether the equipment is running well and whether there is any noise.
During the test run, the equipment should be run at no load for half an hour to ensure that the equipment is in the best condition before formal use.
 

2. Startup and operation

 
Startup sequence:
 
• First start the oil pump motor and cooling system, and then start the motor after the oil pressure and oil flow indicators are normal.
 
• The crusher must be started at no load, and the feeding equipment can only be started after a period of normal operation after starting.
 
Uniform feeding:
 
• During operation, attention must be paid to uniform feeding, avoiding lateral feeding or full feeding to avoid unilateral overload or overload.
 
• The maximum size of the feeding block should not be greater than 0.85 times the width of the feeding port.
 
• Prevent non-crushed objects from entering the jaw crusher.
 
Monitoring and adjustment:
 
• Always pay attention to the situation where large pieces of ore are stuck in the feeding port. If it is stuck, use tools such as iron hooks to turn the ore, and it is strictly forbidden to operate directly with hands.
• If the ore is fed too much or the crushing chamber is blocked, the ore feeding should be stopped and the operation should be resumed after the ore in the crushing chamber is crushed.
• Regular inspections should be carried out to observe the working conditions of each component and the bearing temperature. For the sliding bearing temperature of large jaw crushers, it is usually not more than 60°C to prevent the melting of alloy bearing bushes and the occurrence of bearing burning accidents.
 

3. Lubrication and maintenance

 
Timely lubrication:
 
• The grease added to the bearing seat is about 50% of its space volume and should be replaced every 3-6 months.
• When changing the oil, clean the raceway of the ball bearing with clean gasoline or kerosene.
• An appropriate amount of grease should be injected between the toggle plate and the toggle plate seat.
• When the oil pump suddenly fails, the oil pump needs to be manually pressed to supply oil to keep the bearing lubricated.
 
Daily maintenance:
 
• Regularly check the tightness and wear of the V-belt (or flat belt), and adjust or replace it in time.
• Check the wear of the guard plates on both sides. If the wear is serious, they should be replaced.
• Check whether the center position of the flywheel counterweight is correct. Generally, the correct position is the best when the machine vibration is the smallest.
• Check whether the protective device is in good condition. If any unsafe phenomenon is found, it should be eliminated in time.
 

4. Stop and clean up

 
Stop sequence:
 
• When stopping, it must be carried out in the order of production process. Stop feeding first, and then stop the jaw crusher and belt conveyor after all the ore in the crushing chamber is discharged.
• After stopping, the lubrication and cooling systems can be stopped. In winter, the circulating cooling water in the bearing should be drained to prevent the bearing from freezing and cracking.
 
Cleaning and inspection:
 
• Clean up after stopping, and check all parts of the machine to ensure that there are no abnormalities.
• If the jaw crusher stops suddenly for some reason, before the accident is handled and ready to start, the accumulated ore in the crushing chamber must be cleaned up before starting.
 

5. Personnel training and safety education

 
• In order to ensure the normal operation of the machine and the safety of personnel, personnel who are not familiar with the operating procedures are not allowed to operate the jaw crusher alone.
• Machine operators must receive safety and technical education and understand the equipment performance and operating procedures before they can operate.
