The size of the discharge opening of the jaw crusher determines the particle size of the crushed stone and the production capacity of the equipment. Due to changes in wear and particle size requirements of the finished product, it is necessary to adjust the size of the discharge port, and the time and efficiency of different adjustment methods are different.

1. Pad type
The adjusting backing plate is generally located behind the toggle seat in the adjusting seat. When it is necessary to adjust the discharge opening, the number of backing plates can be increased or decreased, and the total thickness of the backing plates can be changed so that the front and rear positions of the toggle plate can be changed, and the front and rear positions of the lower part of the movable jaw can be moved to realize the change of the size of the discharge opening.
a) Insert the backing plate from the back of the jaw crusher
The adjusting backing plate is inserted from the rear of the crusher, and the backing plate is shorter in length and lighter in weight. The operating space of the operator is limited, and it is inconvenient to replace the backing plate.
b) Insert the backing plate from the side of the jaw crusher
The adjustment backing plate is inserted from the side plate of the crusher, the backing plate is longer and the weight is heavier. The operating position of the operator is better and safer.
The adjustment of the backing plate is relatively simple, but it is often inconvenient. It is difficult to adjust the discharge opening by adding or subtracting the backing plate. It needs to be placed close to the crusher. On the one hand, it takes up space and on the other hand, it must prevent loss. It cannot be adjusted steplessly, and it cannot be adjusted automatically by hydraulic means.
2. Wedge block type
The wedge block type adjustment device is mainly composed of two identical wedge blocks. The wedge-shaped block is located behind the bracket seat in the adjustment seat, and the slopes of the two wedge-shaped blocks are relatively attached together. By changing the relative position of the two wedge-shaped blocks, the total thickness of the pair of wedge-shaped blocks can be changed, so that the front and rear positions of the toggle plate can be changed. Change, and move the front and rear positions of the lower part of the movable jaw to change the size of the discharge opening.
a) Mechanical adjustment
The mechanical adjustment method is that the movement of the wedge-shaped block is realized by manually turning the adjustment screw. The adjusting screw is located on both sides of the crusher. One end of the adjusting screw is connected with the wedge block through the pin shaft and is installed on both sides of the side plate of the crusher frame by means of the adjusting nut and the support. When it is necessary to adjust the discharge opening, turn the screw with a wrench on both sides of the frame to pull the wedge, change the relative position of the two wedges, and then change the total thickness of the wedge to achieve the purpose of adjusting the size of the discharge opening.
b) hydraulic adjustment
The hydraulic adjustment method is to change the adjustment screw in the mechanical adjustment method into a hydraulic cylinder, and the adjustment of the tension spring is also realized through the hydraulic cylinder, so that the automatic adjustment of the discharge port is realized, which is convenient and labor-saving.
3. Hydraulic cylinder type
The hydraulic cylinder discharge port adjustment device is equivalent to installing a large oil cylinder in the middle of the toggle plate so that the length of the toggle plate can be adjusted steplessly, thereby changing the front and rear positions of the movable jaw and realizing the adjustment of the discharge port size.
The discharge port adjustment device with this structure can not only automatically adjust the size of the discharge port, but also realize the functions of passing iron and cleaning the cavity, which is convenient for operation and reduces labor intensity.
However, the manufacturing cost of this jaw crusher will be higher, and it will put forward higher requirements for workers' operation and maintenance skills.
To sum up, the backing plate type is the simplest, but the operation is inconvenient; the wedge block type can realize automatic adjustment, and the operation is more convenient; the hydraulic cylinder type can not only automatically adjust the discharge port, but also realize the functions of passing iron and cleaning the cavity, and is easy to use, reducing the labor intensity of the operator.
