The movable jaw and fixed jaw of the jaw plate of the jaw crusher are the key components of the jaw crusher, and they play a vital role in the crushing process.
The movable jaw, also known as the movable jaw plate, is the part of the jaw crusher that does reciprocating motion. The movable jaw is usually suspended on the eccentric shaft, with an inclined position, forming a crushing chamber (working chamber) with a larger top and a smaller bottom with the fixed jaw plate. The movable jaw plate is fixed to the movable jaw by bolts and pressure blocks and moves with the movable jaw.
The fixed jaw, also known as the fixed jaw plate, is the stationary part of the jaw crusher. The fixed jaw is fixed vertically (or slightly tilted at the upper end) on the front wall of the machine body as the fixed side wall of the crushing chamber. The fixed jaw plate is fixed on the fixed jaw and forms a squeezing space for the material with the movable jaw plate.
Working principle of the movable jaw and the fixed jaw:
• When the jaw crusher is working, the pulley is driven by the motor, causing the eccentric shaft to start rotating, thereby driving the movable jaw group and the movable tooth plate to perform periodic motion together.
• When the movable jaw group moves upward as a whole, the angle between the thrust plate and the movable jaw plate gradually increases, pushing the movable tooth plate to slowly approach the fixed tooth plate, and the two jaw plates squeeze the material, thereby crushing the material.
• When the movable jaw group moves downward as a whole, the angle between the thrust plate and the movable jaw plate gradually decreases, and the distance between the movable tooth plate and the fixed tooth plate gradually increases, and the crushed material is discharged from the discharge port.
Material and wear resistance of movable jaw and fixed jaw:
• The movable jaw plate is often made of high manganese steel, ultra-high manganese steel, ultra-strong high manganese steel, and other materials, which have high wear resistance and long service life.
• In order to improve wear resistance, the surface of the movable jaw plate is often made into a tooth shape, and the angle and pitch of the tooth peak are determined according to the nature and size of the crushed material.
The movable jaw and fixed jaw of the jaw crusher are indispensable parts of the jaw crusher. Together, they constitute the crushing chamber and complete the crushing process of the material. The movable jaw forms a squeeze space with the fixed jaw through reciprocating motion to crush the material, while the fixed jaw remains stationary to provide stable support for the crushing process. Both are carefully designed and optimized in terms of material and structure to ensure efficient and stable crushing effects.
